Joan Wilkins owned The Posey Patch in Mt. Cory
Joan Elizabeth Wilkins, 88, died Oct. 1, 2018, Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay. Joan was born Aug. 12, 1930, in Benton Ridge to the late Clifford and Lois (Reiter) Niswander. On Oct. 24, 1952 she married Leland Wilkins and he survives.
Joan graduated from Mt. Cory High School. She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Triplett Corp., Bluffton, and had owned and operated the Posey Patch in Mt. Cory. Joan was a member of Mt. Cory United Methodist Church.
Survivors also include a daughter, Kay (Jerry Shafer) Woolley of Mt. Cory; a grandson, Seth Woolley of Mt. Cory; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her step-father, Merritt Green and a sister, Doris Bucher.
Services will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 5, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton. Pastor Mark Fuerstenau officiating. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery near Mt. Cory. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Cory United Methodist Church.
