University volleyball player HCAC volleyball player of the week
Senior Bethany Martini (Pickerington North) led Bluffton to a 2-1 mark last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on offense.
Martini delivered a career-high tying 28 kills on Wednesday in a win over Mount St. Joseph. The final kill was number 1,000 for her career! The senior outside hitter totaled 60 kills (5.00 per set) and 26 digs for a .278 hitting percentage. She followed MSJ with another powerful performance on Saturday when her 24 spikes helped Bluffton knock Rose-Hulman from its perch atop the HCAC!
Bluffton (11-10, 3-0 HCAC) will travel to rival Defiance on Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. before hosting Transylvania at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
