Fair Trade event and LSO string quartet coming to the library
Two programs of special interest to patrons is on the Bluffton Public Library calendar in the next few weeks.
Fair Trade Month event
In honor of Fair Trade Month, Bluffton Public Library will show a Fair Trade Webinar discussing how to communicate with others about fair trade ideas and their importance.
This video chat style presentation is at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 23. It is titled: “Telling Authentic Fair Trade Stories.”
Persons attending will be able to ask fair trade campaigns speakers any questions you may have via the chat box with which a member of staff can help you. Anyone is welcome to attend, and no registration is required.
Meet Miss Lauren on the main floor of the library for this program and for free refreshments. E-mail [email protected] with questions.
The library is also collecting fair trade cup sleeves for a giveaway; write your name and contact number inside the sleeve, and drop it of at the library to enter for your chance to win some Fair Trade goodies.
Lima Symphony Orchestra Quartet storytime
A program at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, kick offs Bluffton Public Library's November Family Storytime sessions. The program includes a visit from the Lima Symphony Orchestra Quartet.
At this fun interactive event participants will enjoy books such as Pete the Cat, Peter Rabbit, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, and many more popular favorites accompanied by classical masterworks performed by the string quartet.
Participantswill learn about the instruments used and explore basic musical ideas and concepts.
The program is free and open to the public, as made possible in part by the National Endowment for the Arts. No registration is required for any library Family Storytime sessions.
Stay tuned for information about another Family Storytime event featuring the Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District.
