Planned power outage tonight at 11 p.m.
Attention AEP customers: Expect a 5- to 10-minute power outage tonight at approximately 11 p.m.
The Village of Bluffton was notifed of the anticipated outage shortly after noon today.
Richard D. Doughtery of AEP, sent the village the following message:
"I wanted to let you know that an unexpected urgent situation has been discovered with the transmission line serving the Bluffton substation.
"A 5- to 10-minute outage will take place close to 11 p.m. tonight, (Friday, Oct. 19).
"Efforts will be made to utilize the automated call system to notify all impacted customers of this situation, however that may not be able to be accomplished. The impacted area will include the Village of Bluffton and the rural areas surrounding the village.
"This message is going out to the hospital, university and the village."
