Information seminar on relief from reflux
About one-third of Americans experience heartburn – a burning pain in your esophagus – at least once a month. Other feel that pain even more regularly.
Mercy Health specialists Dr. Jason Bowersock and Dr. Jayde Kurland are offering a free informational seminar for anyone with or interested about the symptoms of heartburn. This seminar will be taking place on Monday, Nov. 5, between 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. at Lima Mercy Health - St. Rita’s 718 building, first floor, Auxiliary Conference room #3.
Dr. Kurland will discuss heartburn, current treatments, the increasing prevalence of esophageal cancer and why you should care if you're experiencing heartburn symptoms while on medication.
Dr. Bowersock will discuss the LINX Reflux Management System and Nissen Fundoplication as surgical treatment options. LINX is a minimally invasive surgical solution designed to eliminate dependence on medication and improve overall quality of life. LINX prevents stomach acid from moving up into the esophagus. Nissen Fundoplication supports the weak lower esophageal sphincter to keep acid in the stomach.
There will be parking in the St. Rita’s parking garage.
