Gary Hofacker was a 1979 graduate of Bluffton HS
Gerald "Gary" Ervin Hofacker, 57 of Lima, died Nov. 13, 2018, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.
Gary was born Aug. 11, 1961, in Lima to Gerald "Slim" Hofacker, who preceded him in death and Shari (Luchini) Hofacker who survives him in Lima.
On Aug. 11, 1990, he married Janice (Hoffman) Hofacker, who survives him in Lima. Gary graduated from Bluffton High School in 1979 with honors and then attended The Ohio State University, Lima branch. He started at Allen County Juvenile Facility in 1991 where he worked his way up to captain.
In addition to his wife and mother, Gary is survived by sons, Donovan Mabry, Timothy Alan (Debbie) Hoffman and Jason Owen (Katie Pfenning) Mabry; daughter, Nichole (James Skaggs) Mabry; grandchildren, Coral, Destiny, Sage, Kaiden, Kyleigh,; great-grandchild, Kaydence; brothers, Alex (Beatrice) Hofacker and Adam (Jane) Hofacker; sister, Melinda McDougal and 8 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Gary is preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Hofacker; paternal grandparents, Charles and Iva (Taylor) Hofacker and maternal grandparents, Marion and Alice (Kramer) Luchini.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 17, from 2 - 4 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Shawnee Chapel.
