Birchaven Village named a “Best Nursing Home”
Birchaven Village, a division of Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS), has been named to the list of Best Nursing Homes 2018-19 by U.S. News & World Report. This is the fourth time Birchaven has been named to this prestigious list.
“We are committed to providing high quality and compassionate care for all of our residents,” said Bridgett Mundy, administrator of Birchaven Village and Independence House. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our entire care team.”
U.S. News assigned two separate ratings to most nursing homes: An overall rating and a short-stay rehabilitation rating. Facilities were considered Best Nursing Homes if they were rated high performing in either the overall or short- stay rehabilitation rating and not rated worse than average in the other. Birchaven Village was one of 2,975 facilities recognized by U.S. News as Best Nursing Homes and one of only 1,837 who received this recognition for high performing overall care. A total of 15,000 nursing homes were rated nationwide.
“We are honored to receive this award for the fourth time,” added Bob Westphal, President of Continuing Care Services at BVHS. “Our associates, clinicians and leadership team work tirelessly to ensure our residents are receiving exceptional care, and we look forward to continue striving for excellence.”
