2 free showings of "It's a wonderful life" on Friday
If “It’s A Wonderful Life” is one of your all-time favorite Christmas movies, you are in luck.
Bluffton Icon will sponsor two free showings of the 1946 classic featuring the all-star cast of James Stewart, Donna Reed and Lionel Barrymore on Friday, Nov. 23, at the Shannon Theatre.
The free showings are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and are part of this year’s Blaze of Lights event.
Nominate Bluffton greatest musician!
Icon viewers have the opportunity to nominate Bluffton’s greatest musician during the holiday season.
Remember ZuZu Bailey, the little girl who played the piano and had flower petals in her father’s pockets?
This year the Icon will present the “ZuZu’s Petals Award” to Bluffton’s greatest musician. The Icon is accepting nominations for that award now through Dec. 1.
“We want to recognize someone in Bluffton whose musical abilities have affected our community in a way that ZuZu affected her father in the movie,” said Fred Steiner of the Icon.
Viewers may nominate someone who deserves this honor. In return, the Icon present the winner with a large bouquet of flowers.
Here’s how to make a nomination
• Email a nomination to [email protected], or mail it to Bluffton Icon, 226 Grove St., Bluffton, OH 45817. Simply explain why your nominee deserves recognition. Persons interested in mailing a nomination may use the form attached.
• Nomination deadline is Saturday, Dec. 1.
• Nominees should either be a Bluffton school district resident, own a Bluffton business, work in the village or made a significant contribution to music in Bluffton.
