John Koch 1935-2018
John Harold Koch, 83, of Waterville, Ohio, died Nov. 21, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, Ohio. John was born June 3, 1935, to Harold Edwin and Mabel (Althaus) Koch in Toledo. He spent his childhood in Bluffton and Waterville. He graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 1953. John married Joan Eleanor (Turner) and they were married 58 years. John graduated from the University of Toledo with a B.S. in Business.
Drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958, John served in the 9th Cav, 1st Cavalry Division as a radio operator on the DMZ in Korea.
John worked in the automotive aftermarket for over 30 years. He was in sales and marketing primarily at AP Parts.
John is survived by his wife Joan, his sons John E. (Stacey) Koch, Jimmy Koch, and his daughter Jacquelyn (Edward) Loughery, his grandchildren Wesley and Brenden Johnson; Kaylee, John and Jeffrey Koch; and Trenton and Addison Loughery; his brother Donald (Sandy) Koch, and his sister Janet (Ken) Wittes. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peinert Dunn Funeral Home, 6603 Providence St. Whitehouse. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville.
