MHCO seeks worship/Bible study volunteers
Lay leaders, youth groups, Sunday school classes, families, retirees and young adults are needed to assist with worship services and Bible Studies at Mennonite Memorial Home and Maple Crest Senior Living Village, Bluffton.
Opportunities at Mennonite Memorial Home include:
• Assisting residents getting to and from worship services
• Leading a worship service
• Leading the music at a worship service
Worship services are approximately 30 minutes long and are held on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. They are similar in format to a traditional Sunday worship service with hymns, sermon, prayer and scripture.
Volunteer opportunities at Maple Crest include:
• Conducting Bible Studies
The Thursday Bible Study is held from 4-5 p.m. and attendance is usually 10-14 residents. Volunteers are asked to commit to two weeks consecutively to allow for continuity of the theme, which is chosen by each leader.
“Fellowship with the Lord is important for all of us, especially our elders,” said Jessica Strahm, MHCO volunteer coordinator. “This is a great opportunity for individuals who are interested in sharing the love of Christ. If someone is available once a month, once a quarter or even twice a year, we have a place for them.”
For more information, contact Strahm at 419-358-1015, ext. 248 or at [email protected]
