Troy Wilcox was Allen East soccer coach
Troy J. Wilcox, 49, died on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at 9:24 p.m. at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born on Dec. 29, 1969, in Lima, Ohio, to David and Janet (Stalnaker) Wilcox. His father, David preceded him in death and his mother Janet survives in Waynesfield, Ohio. On Sept. 23, 1995 Troy married Stormy Hewitt and she survives in Harrod.
Troy worked at Dana Corporation of Lima for 10 years and did masonry work with his brother Dave for over 20 years. He was a graduate of Waynesfield Goshen High School, class of 1989. Troy was a soccer coach for over 15 years, with the last two years being at Allen East High School.
Also surviving are his three sons: Austin Wilcox, Hunter Wilcox and Bryce Wilcox all of Harrod; a daughter, Emma Wilcox of Harrod; a granddaughter, Kiara Wilcox; two brothers: Kip (Michelle) Wilcox of Waynesfield, Dave (Sarah Beth) Wilcox of Wapakoneta; and two sisters: Melissa (Bob) Day of Blairsville, Ga., and Kara (Vince) Davidson of Shawnee.
A celebration of life for Troy will be held at the Allen East Community Center, 9520 Harrod Road, Harrod, on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at 4 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Hall officiating. The Family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. both prior to and following the service at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, P.O. Box 38, Ada, Ohio 45810 for the benevolence of the family.
