What a different a year makes!
Although Mark Twain is believed to state that everyone complaints about the weather, but no one does anything about it, (**see footnote) Guy Verhoff from the official weather station at Pandora, does the next best thing.
He records it.
And, here’s what he found about our weather in 2018:
2018 figures
60.3 degrees – average maximum temperature
42.7 degrees – average minimum temperature
51.5 degrees – average temperature
94 degrees – absolute maximum temperature (May 28)
-12 degrees – absolute minimum temperature (January 2)
39.32 inches – precipitation
28.2 inches – snow
37.05 inches precipitation - normal average
50.3 degrees – temperature - normal average (60+ year average)
As a comparison of these figures, refer to the attachment showing records since 2006.
Here’s the highs and lows since 2006:
-19 degrees – low temperature in 2014
102 degrees – high temperature in 2012
** Apparently Twain actually said: "We all grumble about the weather, but" (dramatic pause) "– but – but nothing is done about it."
