Mary Blosser was a teacher at Cory-Rawson prior to retirement
Mary L. Blosser, 88, died Jan. 3, 2019, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. Mary was born Dec. 22, 1930 in Washington, Illinois, to the late Rufus and Lillian (Lantz) Rich. On March 19, 1955, she married Glenn Blosser who preceded her in death on April 22, 2013.
Mary graduated from Washington Community High School in Washington, Illinois, and received her bachelor's degree in education from Bluffton College. She was an elementary teacher at Carey High School and Cory-Rawson Schools.
After retirement, she was a private tutor to students. Mary was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton where she sang in the church choir. She enjoyed playing piano, singing and was a member of the New Stark Social Circle.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Lisa) Blosser of Bluffton, Larry Blosser of New Stark; three grandchildren, Shelby Blosser of New Stark, Daniel Blosser of Piqua, Michael Blosser of Bluffton; and a sister, Lois (Len) Smucker of Ashland, Oregon
Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald J. Rich.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, at First Mennonite Church in Bluffton. Pastors Wanda Stopher and Theda Good officiating. Burial will be in Hasson Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Monday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services in Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Mennonite Church or Bluffton University.
