First council meeting of 2019
It will be a busy council meeting on Monday (tonight, Jan. 14), as the village governing body meets for the first time in 2019.

Among items on the agenda include the introduction of Elliott T. Werth, as the new village solicitor. He is with the Findlay law firm of Hackenberg, Beutler, Rasmussen and Feighner.
Several committee reports are on the agenda:
• The ordinance committee will report on its Jan. 3 meeting, which focused on codification and strategic planning. One of the topics of that meeting included a dispute over a civil boundary line in the village.
• The street and alley committee will report on its two-hour meeting of Jan. 10. Meeting topics included Bentley Road re-alignment, street and sidewalk design for Jefferson Street, and an access management policy.
• Jesse Blackburn, village administrator, will report on a Federal Aviation Administration (FFA) and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) grant to the village of $139,450. The local share in the grant is $6,730.
