Calling all farmers' market vendors
It doesn’t open until May, but plans are already underway to launch this season’s Bluffton Farmers Market.
One of the largest small-town farmers’ markets in northwestern Ohio, the market celebrates its 19th year in 2019. It offers a variety of locally-grown produce, plants and food in addition to being a great social meeting point on Saturdays.
A vendor meeting is at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, in the third floor of the town hall, 154 N. Main St.
According to Greg Probst, market manager, the meeting will provide details of the 2019 season. It will also enable vendors to sign up for the full season at a discount price.
Opening day for this year’s market is Saturday, May 4. As in past years, market hours are 8:30 a.m. to noon each Saturday from May 4 through the final Saturday in October. The market will continue this season in the Citizens National Bank parking lot on Main Street.
Bluffton farmers’ market became part of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce in 2016 during its 11th season. Probst, a vendor since 2008, became market manager at that time.
The market includes special events throughout the season. These include performances by local musicians and storytime for youth provided by the Bluffton Public Library on selected Saturdays.
