Future teachers invited to Bluffton University
High school students are invited to learn more about Bluffton University’s Educator Preparation Program, the demands and rewards of teaching, and career routes for education majors during a special event for high school juniors and seniors hosted by the Bluffton Education Organization (BEO).
The 50-member student organization will lead activities and discussion sessions during the Wednesday, Feb. 6, event. Starting at 3 p.m. with registration, the event also includes a meal, mini tour of campus and free admission to the women’s and men’s basketball games against rival Defiance College.
Education is a high-demand field with many age ranges and opportunities to explore, and Bluffton graduates are among the best qualified in the nation, as reflected in student rankings on the Ohio Educator Preparation Performance Report.
The event is free and open to interested juniors and seniors. To register, contact Tim Byers, assistant professor of education and BEO advisor, by Feb. 1 at [email protected]. T-shirts and door prizes will also be handed out during the event.
