On Feb. 19 Jefferson Street property owners had a first-hand look at the street improvement project that comes their way this summer.
The project includes a water main replacement scheduled for May 20 to July 1, followed by major street improvements scheduled for July 1 to Oct. 25.
The project is in several phases including:
• Phase I 2019 - the replacement of the bridge over Riley Creek by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the addition of pedestrian crossings at the Norfolk Southern Railroad. This phase covers Jefferson from Main Street to the railroad.
• Phase II 2020 – includes street improvements from the railroad to County Line Road.
• Proposed 2023 – A proposed pedestrian pathway, which relies on ODOT funding through its Transportation Alternatives Program, is a possibility.
A map and several attachments to this story explain the project in greater detail.
