April 4 rally for release of full Mueller Report
The public is invited to a rally to urge release of the full report of the Mueller investigation into the Russian government's efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.
The rally will be at the gazebo in the Lima Town Square at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 4. It is organized by local group Allen and Hardin for Election Action & Democracy (AHEAD) and is part of a National Day of Action in coalition with MoveOn, Public Citizen, and People for the American Way.
Speakers and community members will urge that main body of the report be released to Congress, with a version redacted for national security then released more broadly. To date, only a four-page summary of the 300-page report has been released by Attorney General William Barr.
“Constitutionally, Congress must provide oversight of the White House,” said AHEAD member Sue Metheney of Bluffton. “For our national security, Congress needs to understand the role of Russia in the 2016 election.”
Two weeks ago, the House of Representatives voted 420-0 to demand the release of the Mueller report. Overwhelming majorities of Americans also want the full report released.
AHEAD is a citizen advocacy group composed of Allen and Hardin County residents committed to nonviolent action for democracy. More information on AHEAD is on the website: https://aheadoh.wordpress.com/
