Pirate softball team now 14-1 after blowout at Spencerville

BLUFFTON - Lady Pirate junior Libby Schaadt fired a five-inning perfect game to lead host Bluffton to a 10-0 shellacking of Spencerville in a Northwest Conference softball mismatch Thursday evening.
Schaadt struck out 11 and allowed no Bearcat to reach base in her perfectoe. Her record is now 12-1.
The Lady Pirates extended their win streak to 13 games and improved their season record to 14-1 with the lopsided win.
Bluffton also improved to 5-0 in league action to stay in first place, a game ahead of Crestview.
Spencerville fell to 0-13 and 0-3 in NWC play with the defeat.
Riley Busch doubled, singled and drove in four runs to pace the six-hit Pirate offense.
Katie Prater scored two runs, singled and stole three bases. Averey Rumer, Brinkley Garmatter and Madison Fleece each contributed a single.
Bluffton led 4-0 heading to the fourth inning, when the Pirates plated six runs to put the game out of reach.
The Bearcats made one miscue while Bluffton committed no errors on defense.
