Timothy Michel was a 1973 BHS graduate
Timothy James Michel, 64, of Maysville, North Carolina and formerly of Bluffton died June 4, 2019, at Crystal Coast Hospice House in Newport, North Carolina.
Tim was born May 8, 1955, in Allen County, Ohio to the late James Michel and Wanda (Buettner) Heffner. He was married to June Downing Michel who survives in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Tim graduated from Bluffton High School in 1973. After graduation, he drove tractor-trailer. In 1983, he joined the U.S. Marines Corp. Tim retired from active duty on May 31, 2004, and then served in the reserves until Dec. 1, 2013.
Survivors also include a son, Beau Michel of Brunswick, Georgia; a daughter, Amber Michel of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, Brenden, Madison, Kierstan and Kendall; two sisters, Joyce (Gary) Hauenstein of Bluffton, Charity Guinther of Bluffton; a brother, John (Deanna) Michel of Columbus Grove and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 10, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Robert Evans officiating. Burial will be in Rockport Cemetery where military honors will be conducted. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 - 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice of the donor's choice.
