June was a busy month for Bluffton PD K-9

Busy with Bluffton police work and a requst from state patrol

Here is the June Bluffton police department docket.

June 1
Officers arrested a Rawson resident for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of State Route 103 and Commerce Lane. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.

June 2
Officers received a civil complaint from an Ottawa resident.

June 4
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of Elm Street near Main Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

June 6
Officers arrested a Lima resident for driving under suspension, possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia following a traffic stop in the area of South Main Street and Kibler Street for a speeding violation. The cases are pending in Lima Municipal Court.

June 7
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of College Avenue near Harmon Road for a moving violation. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

June 9
A South Main Street resident reported a criminal damage complaint to police.

June 15
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of State Route 103 and Commerce Lane. The case is pending in Findlay Municipal Court.

June 18
Officers received a complaint of a suicidal subject at the Bluffton University Nature Preserve. After an exhaustive search, an Allen County Deputy observed the subject run into the woods. Bluffton Police K9 Kato was deployed on a track through the woods and ultimately located the subject hiding behind a tree. The subject was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center for a psychological evaluation.

June 19
Officers received a telecommunications harassment complaint from a County Line Road resident.

June 20
Officers received a second telecommunications harassment complaint from a County Line Road resident.

Officers conducted a wellbeing check on a College Avenue resident.

June 22
Officers arrested an Arlington resident for OVI and felony possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop in the area of Snider Road and Spring Street for a speeding and equipment violation. Investigating officers requested canine assistance. After a positive alert from K9 Kato, a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in a felony amount of a controlled substance being located inside the vehicle. The cases are pending in Lima Municipal Court.

June 23
The Ohio State Highway Patrol requested canine assistance from K9 Kato on State Route 309 near State Route 235.

June 26
Officers responded to the Buckeye Park near the creek for a suspicious item found in the creek. The item, which was believed to be a handgun, was an airsoft pistol and was transported to the Bluffton Police Department for safe keeping.

June 28
Officers arrested a Lima resident for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the area of Main Street and Snider Road. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

June 29
Officers arrested a Bluffton resident on an outstanding warrant out of the Findlay Police Department. The subject was transported to the Hancock County Justice Center on his warrant.

June 30
Officers, along with Allen County Deputies and Johnny Appleseed Park Rangers responded to the area behind the Motter Metro Park for a suicidal person. After another extensive search for the suicidal subject he was located at the Bluffton Village Park and, after EMS cleared him, he was released to his parents pending Inducing Panic and Disorderly Conduct by Intoxication charges.
