Cruz-in-Ada Saturday
FROM ADA ICON - They are taking it to the streets on Saturday in Ada.
Last summer's Ada VFW cruz-in-Ada attracted owners of over 60 vehicles. This year's show should be just as large if not better, according to Win Hauenstein.
Here's what you need to know:
The show is from 1 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, July 20, on Main Street, Ada. The street will be closed to through traffic during the event.
Registration is $12 and takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. A cruise is from 5 to 7 p.m. Awards are presented at 7:30 p.m.
A burn out competition is at 5:30 p.m. It takes place in the municipal parking lot behind the police station. A $5 donation is accepted for PAWS, an organization that trains service dogs for disabled veterans. First place prize is $100; second place, $50.

• Pre-1950 car and truck
• 1950-1972 car and truck
• 1973 and newer car and truck
• VFW choice - car and truck
• Mayor's choice car and truck
• Best 4 by 4 truck
• Oldest vehicle
• Most customized car or truck
• Best of show
Wooden dog tags are given to the first 75 entries. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the day. A 50/50 drawing is open to the public. A Sarka SS grill raffle is also open to the public.
The Ada VFW Auxiliary will offer a half-chicken dinner or pulled-pork dinner with serving starting at 11 a.m. until gone.
