Invertebrate [inˈvərdəbrət, inˈvərdəbrāt] - an animal lacking a backbone, such as an arthropod, mollusk, annelid, coelenterate, etc. The invertebrates constitute an artificial division of the animal kingdom, comprising 95 percent of animal species and about 30 different phyla.

Johnny Appleseed Metro Parks District naturalist Jessie Elsass will share details about invertebrates to area youth at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the Buckeye park pavilion.
