It's big band, polka and ice cream
The Al Best Band will play at a free public concert on Sunday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.
MMH has hosted the annual “Concert on the Lawn” since 2005. The Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Service Group will serve ice cream, and popcorn and ice water will also be available.
Special thanks is given to Don Snyder Excavating, who is the main sponsor of this year’s concert. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and dress for the weather.
A local favorite, the Al Best Band has been performing for over 60 years in the Lima area, and was started by the late Alvin Best. The band specializes in big band and polka favorites.
In case of heavy rain, the concert will be cancelled. Visit the MHCO Facebook page the day of the concert at facebook.com/MHCOhio/ for updated information.
