James O. Dye was retired from General Dynamics
James O. Dye, 89, died on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at 11:46 a.m. at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.
He was born on April 2, 1930, in Mud Lick, Kentucky, to the late John and Rusha (Blevins) Dye. On Dec. 21, 1951, James married Peach Wireman who preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 2012.
James retired from General Dynamics in 2003, where he worked as a welder. He was a member of the Ada Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of God. James loved listening to music.
Surviving are four sons: James L. (Deborah) Dye of Findlay, Jeffrey Dye of Bluffton, Mike (Pam) Dye of McGuffey and Mickey (Lisa) Dye of Columbus Grove; two daughters: Barbara (Thomas) Collier of Beavercreek and Melissa Woodruff of Kenton; a granddaughter, Rebecca Shirk; 16 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren; three brothers: Virgil (Sonja) Dye of Alger, Paris (Sue) Dye of Jenera and Robert (Sheila) Dye of Ada; a sister, Ann (Steve) Zuercher of Ada.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Jean Dye; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Dye; a brother, Elmer Dye; and a sister, Patricia Holbrook.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Pastor Mickey Dye officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
