Bluffton sweeps DJ in NWC spike opener

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton volleyball team swept visiting Delphos Jefferson in the Northwest Conference opener Tuesday night.
The Lady Pirates triumphed 25-21, 25-19, 25-13 to improve to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in league play. DJ fell to 2-7 and 0-1 in the NWC with the loss.
Kylie Stackhouse led the victors with 12 kills, four blocks and one ace. Taylor Schwab knocked down seven kills and served one ace. Libby Schaadt added five kills.
Setter Skyler Scoles dished up 27 assists and dealt three aces.
Kylie Monday mustered up 17 digs, while Scoles came up with 14 digs. Monday also served one ace.
The Bluffton JV also won, 2-1.
The Lady Pirates play at league and local rival Ada (4-5, 0-1 NWC) Thursday evening. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 at Columbus Grove Tuesday.
