Dr. Michael Sheehan speaker at robotic surgery symposium
St. Rita’s Medical Center will hold its Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery Symposium Friday, Nov. 8, at the St. Rita’s Conference Center, 718 W. Market St., Lima.
It will be a day of presentations and discussion to emphasize the importance and advantages of robotic and minimally invasive surgical procedures. Registration will begin at 7 a.m., with various presentations going from 7:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
The symposium will include a presentation by Michael Sheehan, MD, Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Surgical Associates. His presentation “Scoping out the Advantages of Robotic Assisted Lung Resection” will demonstrate how the robotic approach fulfills basic principles of lung cancer management and review the future of robotic lung surgery.
Other topics include presentations and discussion on procedures in gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, thoracic surgery, and urology. All medical professionals are encouraged to attend, including physicians, nurses, STNA and medical assistants.
