13 GROB Systems apprentices graduate
Last week 13 GROB Systems, Inc., apprentices graduated.
The apprentices became journeyperson Industrial Machinist System Technicians, following a four-year apprenticeship at GROB.
GROB works in partnership with Rhodes State College, Lima, in the program. Speaking at the Nov. 14 ceremony, Dr. Cynthia E. Spiers, RSC president, told the grads, “I’m proud of all of you. We are here to celebrate all of your achievements.”
With this year’s graduates, 95 GROB Systems associates have completed two-years of study for an associate degree from Rhodes and their two-year on-the-job training internship at GROB.
Last week’s ceremony was timed with National Apprenticeship Week. Certificates of Completion of Apprenticeships were presented to each graduate by the Ohio State Apprenticeship Council.
About the program
GROB Systems offers the apprenticeship program that features on-the-job training, a hands-on learning environment, and a company-paid college degree. This combination of training and education helps apprentices become valuable members of GROB’s highly-skilled workforce.
The program is designed to prepare students for technician-level jobs within GROB, working in the world of robotics, CNC machines, assembly and test equipment and the total flexible manufacturing network.
In addition to receiving a journeyperson’s card, GROB apprentices also earn an associate’s degree in either manufacturing or electronic engineering technology from Rhodes.
Open house
Five apprenticeship open house and tours take place during the year at GROB. The next three events are on Saturday, Dec. 7, Jan. 11 and Feb. 8. Each starts at 9 a.m.
Application deadline for the class of 202o is Feb. 19. Persons interested in the program may apply online at grobsystems.com/apprentice. Additional questions may be sent to [email protected].
