$7,500 prize money in 2020 BCE business plan competition
The Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs (BCE) is holding the next Ropp Triplett Business Plan Competition in January-March 2020.
Offering a 7-session business plan course taught by Kathy Keller, CBA, the competition has two categories:
• emerging businesses and
• improving 45817 businesses
Awards total of $7,500 in prizes.
The prize that everyone walks away with? “A solid plan that includes financial forecasting, market research, risk management, and marketing,” says BCE Executive Director Paula Scott. “It requires you to spend time and meet deadlines on issues that you might be leaving on the back burner.”
The emerging category is for businesses in Allen, Hancock, Hardin, and Putnam counties that have been in operation for less than two years or have revenues of less than $20,000.
The improving category is for businesses in the 45817 zip code that have less than 50 employees.
Registration before Jan. 1, 2020, costs $125, with the $50 early bird discount. Registration from Jan. 1-14 is $175. Three $75 Scholarships are available for contestants born between Jan. 1, 1999 and Jan. 1, 2002.
As a small business advisor, Keller has seen the difference a business plan makes: "Businesses who have a written plan are 30% more successful than those who do not.
"We guide you through a written business plan, and provide a platform to network with other entrepreneurs who share your same interests and concerns."
