Verb leads Bluffton swimmers at Holiday Invite

LIMA - The Bluffton Swim Club competed in the annual 23-team Holiday Invitational meet at the Lima YMCA Monday.
The Bluffton girls swimmers finished 21st out of 23 schools, while the Bluffton boys came in 10th out of 22 by scoring 80.5 points.
Freshman Riley Verb took second in the 100 breaststroke and also finished third in the 100 backstroke to pace the Bluffton swimmers.
Allison Diller came in 11th in the 500 free to register the top Bluffton girls individual finish.
Wapakoneta took the boys team crown with 541 points, while Lima Shawnee ended up second with 480.
Ottawa-Glandorf won the girls team title with 273 points to out-point second-place Celina (245) and third-place New Bremen (237).
Wapakoneta finished first in the boys/girls combined team standings, with Shawnee second and O-G third. Bluffton finished 16th.
