Bluffton fire department averaged 1 call every 3 days in 2019
Bluffton’s fire department experienced 24 more runs in 2019 than the previous year, according to Jon Kinn, fire chief.

The 2019 department’s runs reached an average of one call every three days. Total calls reached 119 (95 in 2018).
The highest number of calls were 33 from alarms, followed by 27 miscellaneous calls, which included service calls, power lines down, weather watches, investigations and dispatched with no incident found.
The department responded to 26 accidents and 18 non-structure fires.
July was the heaviest month for calls with 15, nearly one every other day. January had the lowest calls with 6.
