Pirate girls ground Rockets

PANDORA - Visiting Bluffton whipped local rival Pandora-Gilboa 57-34 in non-conference girls basketball play Saturday afternoon.
Bluffton raced to a 23-8 margin after one period as senior post Libby Schaadt scored 12 points. The Lady Pirates led 36-13 at halftime and cruised to the blowout victory.
The lopsided win improved the Pirate girls record to 11-3 overall. Struggling P-G dropped to 1-12 with the defeat.
Schaadt topped the victors with 16 points. Laykin Garmatter and Kylie Monday each netted eight markers as 11 players scored for well-balanced Bluffton.
Lacie Fenstermaker led the Rocket girls with a game-high 19 points. But no other P-G player scored more than four.
The Bluffton girls canned 22 baskets, including 18 two-pointers and four goals from three-point range. The Pirate girls converted nine of 17 from the charity stripe (53 percent).
The Rocket girls sank 14 field goals, all from inside the arc. P-G converted six of 13 from the foul line (46 percent).
