Bluffton girls get 1st round sectional bye

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton girls basketball team was seeded fifth out of 14 teams at the Bluffton/Patrick Henry Div. IV super sectional drawing held Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Pirate cagers (12-5) got a first round bye. They will take on the February 17 winner between second seed Arlington (13-5) and 11th seed Cory-Rawson (4-10) in round two.
That sectional final is set for Saturday, February 22 at 6:15 p.m. at Bluffton University.
Bluffton was upset at home by Cory-Rawson 37-30 in the season opener, and did not play Arlington in the regular season.
The Pirate/Arlington/C-R survivor advances to the Ottawa-Glandorf district semifinals Thursday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m.
Northwest Conference leader Columbus Grove (15-3) was voted the top seed. Kalida was seeded third, while McComb (12-5) was fourth.
The four sectional winners advance to district play at O-G. The district finals will be Saturday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m.
