Personal branding talk Feb. 21
Marathana Prothro, assistant professor of communication at Bluffton University, will present the Colloquium, “Inside Job: An Integrated Approach to Personal Branding,” at 4 p.m. on Feb. 21 in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.
Prothro, who received a Bluffton University Research Center Grant to study and develop a book around this topic, says her research has led her a different direction than expected. She will expand upon and share her realizations and outcomes during Colloquium on Feb. 21.
“Personal brand is inherently tied to the idea that human beings are commodities,” said Prothro. “You can’t treat people the same way you treat goods and services, and while this system of turning people into ‘products’ is well intentioned, it also works to separate us from discerning our vocational purpose.”
This event is free and open to the public.
