Youth soccer, flag football, volleyball registration open
Registration is now underway for Bluffton Family Recreation youth spring soccer leagues, flag football and volleyball, according to Amy Byers, BFR sports coordinator.
Soccer
“The deadline to register is Sunday, March 1. After this date there will be a late fee. Ordering tee-shirts, splitting teams, setting up coaches and practices, takes time, so please register by the deadline,” she said.
U6 soccer begins March 31 and run through April 30. Games are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7p.m. at BFR. Players eligible for U6 soccer are between 4 and 6 years old. Each night begins with a 10-minute practice focusing on a specific soccer skill and is followed by a game of 4 eight-minute quarters.
Flag football
Spring flag football begins Saturday, March 28, and runs through May 2. Each division will have one practice a week and games are played Saturday mornings.
BFR offers following flag football divisions:
• K-2nd grade,
• 3rd and 4th grade
• 5th and 6th grade
“We will accept individual and team registrations,” Byers said. “Players register for a team will still need to register as an individual and include in the comments what team they are with, or let our staff know.”
Volleyball
3rd and 4th grade volleyball will begin Saturday, March 21, and run through April 25. Games are Saturday mornings and players may choose whether they practice Tuesdays at 4 p.m. or Thursdays at 7 p.m.
