Parkview Phase II gets green light from village
Bluffton council approved its Village Planning Commission recommendation to permit 3S Development Group, LLC, to proceed with Phase II of its Parkview Development. The action took place on Monday.
Phase II opens up approximately 13 acres and 26 property sites. Derek Snyder of 3S told council that company wants to start as soon as possible. The next phase includes two retention ponds that will have water year-around. The property lots will be slightly larger than those in Phase I.
Snyder said the project has been successful in the past two years. There are 15 lots remaining for sale in Phase I.
Council also approved the planning commission’s zoning and reclassification plan for the property in the Jefferson Street neighborhood, east of the railroad.
Mitch Kingsley, council member and planning commission member, said that the village and planning commission should sit down and do some planning to get ahead of the curve concerning future village zoning.
EMS Chief Jan Basinger alerted council that February was the busiest month ever for Bluffton’s EMS. He said the department had 71 calls, which is nearly double the average monthly call total.
Council set a “council as a whole” session at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, to discussion village appropriations.
In other action, council passed legislation to enter into a contract with Rumpke Waste and Recycling Services.
Council also set wages for its 2020 Bluffton Community Swimming Pool staff. Daily admission, season passes, swim lesson and pool rental prices were set. That information is posted below.
The complete council agenda from March 9 is also attached at the bottom of this story.
