No trout derby this year
The Bluffton Sportsmen's Club has canceled its 2020 trout derby, according to Tom Augsburger, club president.
The derby was originally set for Sunday, May 3. It was later moved to Sunday, June 7. It was canceled yesterday.
The club will still stock both quarries, but no trout will be tagged. Memberships will still be required to fish in either quarry.
Derby sponsors advertisements will carry over to 2021.
The club directors will hold a private meeting to draw the winning tickets for this year’s participants.
"Thanks to all the sponsors. We look forward to a great 2021 fishing derby. Stay safe, see you all next year," said Augsburger.
