Garage sale season is here
It’s garage sale season and the Icons continue to post these sales at no charge.
Here are the Icon’s garage sale guidelines:
• Icon garage sales are posted at no charge
• There is no word limit
(please don’t send us novels)
• Do not send garage sales in all capital letters
This slows down posting your sale – we have to retype it
• We try to post garage sales the same day we receive them
No promises however; it depends upon the volume of news on a given day
• Garage sales are posted on both Bluffton Icon and Ada Icon
• We post garage sales the week they take place
Plese do not send them if they are two weeks in the future
• Our garage sale map will launch soon
We will let you know when it is posted
• Send garage sales to:
[email protected] –
We will respond with a “thank you – got it” note in the email message line
Recommendations from State of Ohio
The Ohio Department of Health issued the following guidelines for garage sales and other outdoor retail sales events. The Icon encourages persons to follow these guidelines.
• Place posters encouraging social distancing for customers to see upon arrival and while shopping.
• Set up tables and chairs within 6 feet apart.
• Use heavy-duty tape to form a flow for customers to follow throughout the sale.
• Ask customers to stand in a line, while spread apart, during a high traffic times.
• Clean all tables and chairs several times throughout the day.
• Make sure all merchandise is washed and dried and/or wiped down with a disinfectant product before placing on a table or chair for sale.
• Wipe down all tables and chairs using disinfectant at the end of the day or in the morning before the next day of the sale starts.
• Wear masks and disposable gloves at all times during the sale.
• Have hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol on tables and other places for customers to use.
