Library will open by appointment, with selected hours
Bluffton Public Library begins Library Use Appointments and expands Curbside Pickup starting Monday, July 13.
Library Use Appointments must be made in advance by at least one business day, and may be made by calling the library at 419-358-5016 or emailing the library at [email protected]. If emailing, an appointment is not scheduled until the patron receives a reply email to confirm the appointment.
Library Use Appointments will take place for 30 minutes each (with 30 minutes in between) on Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The first two hours (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) are reserved for those 65+ and those with underlying medical conditions, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. is open to all patrons ages 16+ to make an appointment.
Patrons with appointments must call the library when they arrive in order to enter the building.
During these appointments, patrons may peruse the library and select items to check out, make copies on the public copier, or use a public computer/printer.
During Library Use Appointments the following precautions must be taken:
• Face coverings must be worn inside the library.
• Patrons and staff must maintain a distance of at least six feet.
• Hand sanitizer is available upon entry.
T• here will be designated tables for touched library materials that patrons do not wish to check out.
Library staff will disinfect areas/items that have been used between appointments.
The following library services are not currently available:
• Access to The Shannon Local History Room or Study Room
• Meeting Room Rentals or Usage
• Browsing of Magazines and Newspapers
• Archives of Bluffton News (information available upon request)
• Fax or Color Copies
Curbside Pickup Appointments continue at Bluffton Public Library, but hours will change to Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The library will also open on Saturdays for Curbside Pickup Appointments only from 10 a.m to 12 p.m. These new pickup hours start Monday, July 13. To schedule a pickup, call the library at 419-358-5016, email [email protected], or visit blufftonpubliclibrary.org/pickup.
If scheduling online, a Curbside Pickup appointment is not scheduled until the patron receives confirmation from a staff member by email or phone.
Please note: Returns must still be made using the library’s 24/7 Outdoor Bookdrop. No returns may be made through Library Use Appointments or Curbside Pickup Appointments.
