FROM ADA ICON - Ada's Tavern 101's reopening this month marked the conclusion of a major 4-month remodeling and renovation to the Main Street restaurant. Bill and Beth Ann Bass are the owners.

What’s new is obvious. 

It’s an enlarged. Previously able to serve about 40 persons “squeezed” in, it now can handle up to 70 patrons. The dining area square footage has increased from about 1,500 to nearly 2,200 square feet. The dining area takes on a completely new look that has several accents of the “old.”

The menus is also new with the addition of pizza, subs, fried chicken and steak. 

What’s old is also obvious.

Customers can’t miss the old round table formerly used as a place to eat. They can’t eat around it, but they can view it. It is refinished and now, thanks to work from Trent Bass, it hangs proudly on the restaurant wall.

Other old items of interest include a wall hanging listing businesses that previously called 101 S. Main St. their home.

Several contractors involved in the renovation include Gibson Construction of Ada, general contractor; Sparta Electric of Lima; and Quality Mechanical of Lima.
