Lady Pirate kickers tie Knights

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton girls soccer team tied visiting Van Buren 1-1 Thursday evening.
The Lady Pirates ran their season record to 1-2-1 with the tie. The Black Knight mark is now 0-2-1.
After a scoreless first half, Bluffton's Riley Eachus put the hosts on top 1-0 with a goal in the 49th minute off an assist from Reagan Mittendorf.
But Van Buren's Anna Durliat tied it 20 minutes later, and neither team could score over the final 11 minutes to end the match in a tie.
Bluffton put seven of its 10 shots on goal. Five of the seven VB shots were on target.
Pirate keeper Julia Mehaffie was credited with four saves. Black Knight goalie Sydney Sherick came up with six saves.
Bluffton (1-0 NWC) visits league foe Crestview (3-0) Tuesday, September 8.
