Volleyball: BHS over Ayersville in 4 sets

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton volleyball team pulled out a four-set victory over Defiance Ayersville Thursday night.
Bluffton improved to 3-2 with the 25-20, 20-25, 25-15, 25-22 win that snapped a two-match losing skid. Ayersville dropped to 1-4 with the defeat.
Juniors Taylor Schwab (18 kills) and Kylie Stackhouse (16) paced the Pirate girls with 34 combined kills. Schwab also came up with 16 digs and one block. Meanwhile, Stackhouse contributed 13 digs, three blocks and two aces.
For the second match in a row, setter Skyler Scoles passed out 39 assists. Sophie Bricker came up with 16 digs, while Kylie Monday hustled up a dozen digs. Celia Smith added a block.
The Pirate junior varsity fell in two sets, and the Pirate frosh also lost 2-0.
Bluffton hosts non-league foe Arlington (0-5) Tuesday, September 8.
