Bluffton netters compete at Elida

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton girls tennis team lost 5-0 to visiting Elida Wednesday evening.
The loss dropped the Lady Pirate net record to 2-7 this season.
Pirate freshmen Caitlyn Couch and Brooke Camper fell at second doubles in a tough third-set tiebreaker 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 (tiebreak).
Bluffton senior Julia Smallcombe played a tough three-setter at first singles, winning the first set 6-2 before losing the last two 3-6, 3-6.
The Bluffton junior duo of Libby Frazier and Ellie Nickel lost at first doubles by a 6-4, 6-4 count.
Pirate seniors Olivia Barnes and Pearl Lewandowski were beaten in straight sets at second and third singles, respectively.
Bluffton is slated to play host to Wauseon Thursday, September 10.
