Volleyball: Bluffton takes down Van Buren in 4

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton girls volleyball team won a four-setter over non-conference rival Van Buren Thursday night to end the regular season on a positive note.
Bluffton's record improved to 13-8 overall with the 25-23, 25-17, 17-25, 25-19 victory.
VB fell to 11-8 with the defeat.
Kylie Stackhouse led the Pirate attack with 20 kills and one block. Versatile Taylor Schwab compiled 15 kills, 20 digs and served five aces.
Haelynn Bischoff also knocked down seven kills, and Cara Young added 14 digs.
Pirate setter Skyler Scoles dished out 45 assists, made one block and dealt three aces. Kylie Monday hustled up 14 digs, and Olivia Siferd added one block.
The Pirate junior varsity lost to VB, 2-1.
Ironically, Bluffton and Van Buren will meet again in the sectional first round Monday, October 19 at 5 p.m. in Bluffton. The Lady Pirates are seeded fifth and VB is seventh.
The winner of the rematch will face the Parkway/Delphos Jefferson victor on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. Parkway is seeded fourth while Jefferson is 11th.
Ottawa-Glandorf is the top seed in the 13-team district. Liberty-Benton is seeded second and Coldwater third.
O-G likely awaits the winner of Bluffton's quarter in the district semifinals Monday, Oct. 26. The district finals are set for Wednesday, Oct. 28.
earned a first round bye and will host the Ada/Mansfield Christian winner October 22 in Bluffton.
MC was seeded fourth and will host 10th seed Ada Oct. 20.
Liberty-Benton is the top seed in the sectional, with Ashland Crestview third.
