Free breakfast and lunch program extends until end of Bluffton school year
On Oct. 9, the U.S. Department of Agriculture extended its free breakfast and lunch program offered to school from Dec. 31 until the end of the school year.
Bluffton Schools participates in the federal meal program, which began Sept. 10.
The program was extended to all schools as a response to economic concerns brought on for many families by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Students who have balances on their accounts can be used in the meantime for additional ala cart menu items beyond the basic lunch.
On Monday, Bluffton school board will act on 26 supplemental contracts for winter events. Most of the contracts are for coaching. The list is attached to this story.
In other action, the board will establish a fund for the purchase of a school buy in 2021. That fund is anticipated to be set with $41,215.
The board agenda is attached
