Barbara Shinabery was a Bluffton University alumnae
Barbara A. Shinabery, 90, died at 9:04 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Barbara was born on July 20, 1930, in Allen Co, Ohio, to the late Clinton G. Wright and Florence Ruth (Leasure) Wright. On August 9, 1953, she married Elmer Ray Shinabery, Jr., he preceded her in death on August 11, 2017.
Member of Bluffton United Methodist Church and Past President of its United Methodist Women and Church Choir; American Association of University Women; Eastern Star #16; graduate of Lima South High School and Bluffton College with a BA arts degree. She volunteered at the Bluffton Senior Citizen Citizens Center and Bluffton Hospital for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Shinabery, of Cloudcroft, New Mexico,
Matthew Shinabery, of Denver Colorade, Mark (Brittainy) Shinabery, of Lancaster,
Ohio, two daughters, Kimberly Shinabery, of Denver, Colorado, and Robin Michalak, of Etna, Ohio, a sister, Loretta Brown, of Lima, and three grandchildren, Ryan Commeans, Christopher (Hillary) Shinabery and Shara (Marvin) Hammond.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, son-in-law, Matt Michalak, daughter-in-law, Judy Shinabery, brother and sister-in-law, Owen (Phyllis) Wright, brother-in-law, Charles Brown.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, at the Bluffton United Methodist Church, Bluffton, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, at Bluffton United Methodist Church. Pastor Bob Clinger will officiate.
Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton United Methodist Church.
