New hours in December fo county health department
Due to the COVID-19 response, Allen County Public Health will be closed to the public from 8 a.m. – noon, Monday through Friday.
These hours will be in effect through the month of December. On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, the ACPH offices will be open 8 a.m. – noon for birth and death certificates.
As of Nov. 30, Allen County has had 5,406 newly-reported cases of COVID-19 during the pandemic.
Over half of those new cases (2,851) have been in just the month of November.
“Our public health priority right now is conducting COVID-19 disease investigation and contact tracing”, said Allen County Public Health Commissioner, Kathy Luhn.
“Because of continuingly increasing COVID-19 spread in the community we need to devote as many staff hours as possible to the COVID-19 response.”
Additionally, during open office hours 12 – 4:30 p.m., services will be limited. Family Planning (Birth Control, STD Treatment) is now offering Telehealth by appointment, and can be scheduled by calling 419-228-6154.
Immunizations, including flu shots are still available and by appointment only. Please call 419-228-4457 to schedule. Allen County Public Health requests that community members call the health department for the status of all other services.
