Carol Jean Wince was an active participant in countless Ada organizations
Carol Jean (Fleming) Wince, 82, died on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at 9:09 p.m. at her residence in Ada, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Dec. 25, 1937, in Putnam County, Ohio, to the late Clarence W. and Geneva O. (Reichenbach) Fleming. On June 2, 1973, Carol married George M. Wince and on Oct. 3, 2015 he preceded her in death.
Carol had previously been a Sunday school teacher and organist at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Ada, where she had been a member for many years. She was a member of the Hardin County Farm Bureau. She had also been a 4-H Advisor, treasurer of the Ada Music Boosters, and a chaperone for many choir and band trips. She had also helped with Junior Fair sale in Hardin County. Carol retired from the Controller’s Office at Ohio Northern University, where she had worked for 11 years. She previously worked at the Ada Farmers Exchange for 21 years.
Carol is survived by her two children: James (Jennifer) Wince of Ada and Rachael Wince-Underwood of Ada; four grandchildren: Alyssa, Kayla, and Addison Wince, and Carson Underwood; three step grandsons: Ty, Brayden and Evan Miller; a brother, Ronald (Nancy) Fleming of Ada; two sisters: Margery Spar of Ada and Virginia Theis of Bluffton; a sister-in-law, Connie Fleming of Ada; and 15 nieces and nephews; and many great, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mary Ann Jordan and Janice Kilpatrick; a brother, Don Fleming; two brothers-in-law: Ralph “Flip” Spar and Richard Jordan; and two nieces: Susan Spar and Patty Parr.
Attendance will be restricted at the funeral and visitation based on space to accommodate social distancing requirements. Face coverings must be worn while attending visitation and service.
Private family services will be held at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Pastor Brandi Rigsby officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Health Professionals-Hospice of Ada, 1200 S. Main Street, Ada, Ohio 45810 and/or the Ada Music Booster and/or the Hardin County Fair Foundation.
