Bluffton host to NWC wrestling meet on Friday
Bluffton High School will host this year’s Northwest Conference meet on Friday.
Eight schools will bring wrestlers and there will be junior high and high school competitions.
Jeff Kleman, Bluffton coach, told the Icon that the junior high wrestlers will compete in the old BHS gym. The high school competition takes place in the new gym.
“Bluffton will have seven or eight wrestlers competing,” said Kleman. He expects Allen East and Columbus Grove be in a competitive spot for the NWC trophy this year.
While the event is not open to the public this year, the meet will be streamed on the school’s YouTube page. That stream will begin shortly before 5 p.m., according to Alex Hanna, Bluffton athletic director.
He said that all NWC schools will bring wrestlers except for Ada, whose players are quarantined.
