Bluffton women seeded 1st; men 4th in HCAC bball tourney
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the matchups for the 2021 women’s and men's basketball championship.

Prior to the 2021 Women’s Basketball season, the league coaches agreed to conduct a 10-team blind-draw tournament, with the regular season having no implications on seeding.
Commissioner Jay Jones and Associate Commissioners conducted the tournament draw at the HCAC headquarters on Feb. 9, and have not released the matchup information until now.
In a random draw the women's team seeds are as follows:
No. 1 – Bluffton University
No. 2 – Earlham College
No. 3 – Franklin College
No. 4 – Manchester University
No. 5 – Transylvania University
No. 6 – Mount St. Joseph University
No. 7 – Hanover College
No. 8 – Anderson University
No. 9 – Defiance College
No. 10 – Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will have a first-round bye, while the No. 7-10 seeds will have a first round games. The No. 1 seed will face the winner of the No. 8/9 matchup, while the No. 2 seed will see the winner of the No. 7/10 game. The higher seed will be the host in all contests, with the host seed determining game dates/time.
The opening round will be played Feb. 26-28, depending on the host schools availability. The second round will take place on March 3, at the higher seed. The semifinal round will be hosted on March 6-7, dependent on the host schools availability. The Championship will be played at the highest remaining seed on March 10.
